Turn-ups
I wish boys would roll up their trousers more often. Turn-ups are a lesser seen detail up here on the mean streets of Scotland and every time I see a shortened pair of trousers I smile with giddy delight. Like men in slim plimsolls or tight-fitting shirts, turn-ups have the effect of making a slight frame appear more masculine. As these two photos show it is a look which can be adapted to both winter and summer time; just as easily dressed with sneakers as with brothel-creepers. Turn-ups can give an outfit boyish charm or nervous energy, it’s your choice. As a quirky and versitile addition to any outfit there’s no need to stop at jeans - why not try rolling up your chinos or tweed slacks and just see what happens! In any case, if you are in search of a new look which doesn’t cost the earth, a quick flick of the hem is all you need.
